Winemaker Notes
The Tittía 2023 by Pedra Niedda Tenute is a still white wine under the Sardegna Semidano DOC designation, made exclusively from Semidano grapes. This wine captures the freshness of Sardinia’s inland areas, delivering vibrant aromas and flavors.
The Semidano grapes used for Tittía come from rented vineyards and collaborations with local growers, with whom the winery works closely throughout the year. The wine is aged in two parts: 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in French oak tonneaux. After six months, the two parts are blended and undergo an additional two months of aging in stainless steel to complete the maturation process.
Tittía stands out for its elegance and freshness, with a well-balanced minerality. It offers delicate aromas of lemon, peach, and honey, with a light mineral touch. On the palate, it achieves a harmonious balance between acidity and smoothness, making it an excellent pairing for seafood dishes.
The Story
Pedra Niedda Tenute is a young winery founded by Enrico, a Tuscan wine enthusiast, and Susanna, a native Sardinian. In 2018, they decided to restore Susanna’s family land in Sini, Sardinia, which had been left uncultivated for years. They planted their first vineyard in 2018 and their second in 2019. Enrico, with a degree in Agricultural Science, has extensive experience in Italian and international winemaking and manages the vineyard and winemaking operations. Susanna, with a background in Tourism Management, takes care of communication, marketing, and sales.
Tittía 2023 has been recognized for its excellence, receiving a 95/100 score for the third consecutive year, confirming its status as one of the top expressions of Semidano. This wine is a true representation of Pedra Niedda’s vision, blending tradition and innovation to showcase the unique characteristics of Sardinia’s terroir.
