Winemaker Notes

 Solo Uva produces this Franciacorta Brut using only the natural sugars present in the grapes, a unique approach in a region where most producers add dosage to adjust sweetness. The base wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel, and secondary fermentation happens in the bottle following the traditional method. The wine is aged on its lees for at least 24 months, adding complexity and texture. Expect notes of citrus zest, green apple, and toasted almonds, with a fine and persistent perlage. The mouthfeel is creamy yet fresh, with a lingering mineral finish. Serve at 8-10°C (46-50°F).


The Story

Franciacorta is Italy’s answer to Champagne, producing metodo classico sparkling wines with depth and elegance. Unlike Prosecco, which undergoes fermentation in large tanks, Franciacorta is made using the labor-intensive bottle fermentation method, yielding a more complex and refined wine. Solo Uva, meaning "Only Grapes," was founded with a mission to produce Franciacorta in its purest form, relying solely on the natural sugar from the grapes rather than added sugars. This philosophy ensures that the final wine is a true reflection of the region’s terroir. The winery's vineyards lie in the rolling hills of Brescia, where cool breezes from Lake Iseo moderate temperatures, preserving acidity and aromatics in the grapes. Solo Uva has quickly gained a cult following for its commitment to purity, sustainability, and innovation in the world of Italian sparkling wine.
