Winemaker Notes

This wine displays clear and fragrant aromas, with a beautiful floral background intertwining tones of blackberries, myrtle, and rosemary. The palate is particularly juicy, featuring dark and fleshy fruit, good extension, and immediate pleasantness. The finish is harmonious and finely spicy, combining freshness with a warmer and more mature register. The name (370 meters - 1213 feet) refers to the elevation of the vineyard from the sea level. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).

The Story

Sciara Winery is situated on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano. The unique volcanic soils and high-altitude vineyards contribute to the distinct character of their wines. Emphasizing sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar, Sciara aims to capture the essence of the Etna terroir in each bottle. The vineyards, planted primarily with the indigenous Nerello Mascalese grape, thrive in the mineral-rich, well-draining soils formed by centuries of volcanic activity. The winery's commitment to preserving the natural environment and traditional winemaking techniques results in wines that authentically reflect the complexity and elegance of the Etna region.
