Winemaker Notes
The 2019 Barolo from Serralunga d'Alba reveals fruity aromas of red and wild berries, accompanied by notes of roses and balsamic mint. With aging, it develops spicy hints of tobacco and leather. On the palate, it's lush and fruit-forward, with ripe plums, blackberries, and raspberries creating a lively mix of forward flavors. Serve at 18-20°C (64-68°F).
The Story
Founded in 2018, De Simone is a relatively new estate in the Barolo region, but it has quickly gained recognition for its commitment to quality and authenticity. The father-son duo, Roberto and Fabio De Simone, handle Nebbiolo grapes with natural fermentation methods, aiming to produce wines that are true expressions of their terroir.
