Winemaker Notes
The Barbera d'Alba 2022 from Silvia Borgogno is a vibrant expression of the Barbera grape. The vineyards are situated in the Barolo area, benefiting from calcareous clay soils that impart structure and complexity to the wine. After hand-harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve their fresh fruit character. The wine is then aged for several months in large oak casks, which adds subtle spice notes without overpowering the natural acidity and fruitiness of the Barbera. On the palate, expect flavors of ripe cherries, plums, and a hint of vanilla, with a well-balanced acidity and smooth tannins. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
